ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Paramour is the eagerly anticipated full-length debut from Texas artist, DEADMAN. Produced by Mark Howard (whose engineering credits include: U2, Bob Dylan, Peter Gabriel, Willie Nelson, Emmy Lou Harris, Daniel Lanois, Iggy Pop, Marriane Faithful...)and recorded at the famed "Paramour" estate in Los Angeles, California, this record captures its musical moments with a profound truth and spirit.

In March of 2001, Steven was contacted by Producer/ Engineer Mark Howard (U2, Bob Dylan, Willie Nelson, Peter Gabriel, Emmy Lou Harris..) who discussed making a full-length with the band at his new Los Angeles studio location. Less than a week later, the band found themselves in a mansion (the Paramour) in the Hollywood hills tracking their debut full-length with Mr. Howard. DEADMAN has since licensed the "Paramour" album to Lakeshore Records and was released nationally in March of 2002.

DEADMAN is about key elements that have fascinated the globe for years: Spirituality, The American West, The Gun Fighter, Fear, Redemption and Rock & Roll. DEADMAN sets out to develop the genre in a popular musical fashion. From a range of institutional influences like Bob Dylan and Neil Young to the atmospherics of Daniel Lanois and U2, DEADMAN comes across like William Munny on the Silver Screen, unforgettable and instantly classic.

absolutly love this albume.. had it almost for 2 years now, and every time i listen to it, just can't help but imagen driving through the never ending Arizona desert.. leaving everything behind. (i know there from texas, but arizona sound more romantic..) the entire albume flows like water, and the couple of last songs, are really mellow and soft..

languid etherial rock to drive across country to!
Much of this album sounds as if it should have been in the Pulp Fiction Soundtrack. It's the music Thelma and Louise should have been listening to when they picked up brad pitt hitch-hiking. A must have driving record!

A commanding recording of folk-based rock music set off by superb songs and perf
Recorded at the famed Paramour estate in Los Angeles, California, this highly anticipated full-length release from these Texan folk rockers captures what has got to be the most honest and perfect 48 minutes and 30 seconds in their collective musical histories. Decidedly easy to listen to, but maintaining a mysterious quality to keep you fully interested, the crystalline spirit of the songwriting boasts a distinct melodic/harmonic charm and a complete lack of harshness. What really got me to sink into this record was the concealed simplicity in the recording that leaves every instrument to find its own place and be heard as clearly as all the rest.

lots of high and low emotions
Bought this for the lower state desert vista sound.

Each track is cleanly produced and sounds crystal clear - the vocals and instrumentation make
the music grab your attention. Definitely has the greatest appeal when listened from start to finish.
To that point, there are a few tracks that are dangerously depressing and you'll be trapped there whisky in hand unless you
finish the album to bring you back up. Five stars around because its another form of emotion that can be enjoyed like any other.

Good music for less rowdy parties where people can sit and enjoy. Excellent!

It sweeps in like a soft breeze..
This music sweeps in like a soft breeze on a hot day, kissing the foreheads of babies out for a stroll as they find peace in the treetops, watching the leaves gently giggle in this same, soft breeze.
