ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
His eighth studio album and, in the opinion of many, Friedman's finest album, yet. Twelve brand new, original songs, filled with the consumate lyrical and musical brilliance, poignancy, revealing insight, wry humor and sheer artistry that listeners have come to expect from this master songsmith/recording-artist.

It's another eclectic 'Dean Friedman' album, an amalgam of musical styles including jazz, pop, rock, folk and country with themes that include songs of love, frustration, success and failure; missing home, the terrors and joys of raising kids, dissertations on the physics of time and space, randomness and causality; there's a song dedicated to Malala Yousafzai, the brave defender of girls' right to an education; a song about a kite (a loose metaphor for the start of Friedman's recording career); a song about his old Martin D-35 acoustic guitar; a misanthrope's duet; and there's a song about ducks - a true story of the 'Easter Rising' - a failed 1916 uprising in Ireland.

Says Friedman, "After four decades of writing, performing and recording, I feel like this new album contains my best songwriting, singing, playing and production, to date."

'Dean Friedman is entirely unique and utterly brilliant!' 5 STARS***** - ThreeWeeks Stunning Musicianship - Hot Press 'Songsmith Extraordinaire! A Great Performer!' - Music Week 'An Amazing Talent' - The Sun 'An American Classic' - Tribune ...are just of few of the superlatives used to describe Friedman's powerfully unique and original talent. This stunning new recording further confirms Friedman's status as one of the finest songwriters of his generation.
