Album Notes
Local crooner Dean Johanesen and frontman for local band “The Human Condition” makes his solo debut with his 2012 album “A Place and A Time.” Recorded at Zen Studio’s. Dean describes his style, as a blend of Americana, Singer-Songwriter with touches of Gypsy Jazz, as telling of his personality and lyrics, taking each song on a journey in the listeners mind, every track heartfelt stories of emotional and personal triumphs.

Dean’s vocals strong and clear, with acoustic guitar chords in comparison to Glen Hansard and Chet Atkins, this debut release fits well into the ever changing world we live in. While he is a singer/songwriter in his own right, here Johanesen focuses primarily on personal stories of friendship and family that make the most of his naturally polished vocal resonance of romanticism exclusive of pride in every note.

Each of the radio-friendly songs are expertly produced and arranged, each track walk a fine line between adult contemporary to pop, roots rock to folk americana. Johanesen’s original cuts as “Sorry in The Meantime” and “Purple Heart” to his reverent take on the Hank Williams Sr. classic “I’m So Lonesome I Could Cry” to his debut track “Godspeed” in the 2011 locally filmed movie “Beautiful Noise”, flow throughout the album without listening hesitation, taking the listener on a quest through Dean’s true to life lyrics.

Ultimately, Johanesen through his melodies give each track a sentiment of personal well-being whilst providing relaxing tunes everyone will want to hear and will eventually seek a “LIVE” performance from this ingenious lyricist and composer.

Dean recently returned from the first of many tour dates in the South, and soon to travel many cities and venues across the US to promote this brilliant CD, as well as his community of fellow musicians.
