Album Notes
This album has been a labour of love, where composition, recording and arrangement has often spilt late into the night and early morning, progressing over a four year period.

All vocals and most of the guitar tracks were recorded at home. They were then taken to Thirty Mill Studios, Brunswick West, where seven outstanding Melbourne musicians contributed their talents. Here recording was completed, and songs finally mixed, mastered and co-produced by highly accomplished sound engineer Colin Wynne.

Versatile collaborator Shane Ryall helped inspire many of the tunes, with his rhythmic grooves, lucid chants & beautiful emotive melodies. From these riffs Debra La Velle established the form by creation of verse, chorus, bridge, vocal melody & lyrics. She quotes “This joint process felt like an incredible natural, addictive ebb and flow, that resulted in a very exciting and satisfying work of art!”.

The songs reveal stories of love, loss, strength, holidaying in The Yasawas Fiji, a nightclub experience in the 80’s, solitude, longing, relationship misunderstandings, pain and fear through injury, midlife, and warm memories of youth.

The album was treated like a performance, with the desire to keep song feels varied, and the listener surprised.

This CD takes you on a journey, that will move and satisfy through its rich tapestry of musicianship, and deep intimate and personal stories.
