ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
In two years, Deckard Croix has released five albums all of which bear little resemblance to each other. This baffling display of prolific eclecticism shows no sign of ending anytime soon, and so we are given Portrait.

Recorded following a severe car accident, the album exudes the undertones of a darker, yet unsettlingly playful mood.

The lyrics are bittingly clever, the music laidback and angular ... so nothing has really changed. Croix is both modern and retrospective, reverential and blasphemous, which begs the question, Is he accessible? That remains to be seen (or heard), maybe when he exorcises his inner experimental demons we\'ll find out.

- Ted Wickliff
