ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Declaration returns with a wondrous new CD featuring modern synthpop that is contagiously catchy.

After a nearly five year hiatus, Declaration valiantly returns with a full-length album revved up in every way -- songwriting, performance, production, and even original artwork. With "Expectation", Declaration discovers its own unique sound, with stellar, powerful yet intimate vocals, and a truly modern synthpop arrangement.

This melodic album is jam-packed with creative variety. From start to finish, it manages to flow effortlessly, despite its great diversity. Highly original, "Expectation" is by no means an album to be passed up. With this new album, Declaration has exceeded every expectation!

The Quintessential Christian Synthpop Album
Declaration has always been about stellar, powerful vocals, rich melodies, and penetrating hooks. After a five-year hiatus the band returns with 'Expectation' to take everything up to the next level, crafting their own unique sound through naked vocals, stunning variety, and improved production. Here's a taste of one's journey through this modern soundscape: winding up with a beautiful yet chilling opener, they just begin to whet your senses before they detonate an unparalleled instant classic (you'll be blasting "Maho Beach" for years to come)! Next an eerie chant synthetically melts through brilliant poetry before you are swept off your feet with a whip-cracking dance anthem with two(!) catchy refrains. This is followed by an autobiographical ballad that I can describe nothing less then a stroke of genius, if nothing else for the atmosphere--what are those sounds: wind chimes against a rushing subway? The thrill ride continues with accompaniments of guitars, piano, a real flute, pristine three-part harmonies, hair-raising backing vocals, and punctuated refrains. The roller-coaster finally comes to a rest with a remake of their 2003 hit "When Push Comes to Shove" (you'll fall in love with this number all over again). 'Expectation' must certainly be one of the year's best and is by no means an album to be passed up by the synthpop enthusiast always looking for something new and exciting to tickle his ears!

A Different Drum calls "Expectation" a "top-notch album"!
This is a strong follow-up to the debut album which garnered great support in the synthpop underground. With dramatic, strong vocals over well layered music, and thoughtful lyrics, it's a top-notch album for fans of synthpop as well as for new wavers.
