Fear of Success

Fear of Success is about finishing something grand. The skater stands on the deck of his Powell Peralta leaning forward as he drops into a 14 foot kidney shaped pool... The only failure is not dropping in...

Album Notes
Ded Serius is a lyrical quest for truth, drawing from the lore of Greek mythology and the original Greek bible from outside the context of self and directly from the consciousness of the collective "we," which includes all of us living here on earth by God's graces.

The quintessence of Ded Serius, is that it derives from the original euphemism Dead Serious, with the caveat that we should never take ourselves overly seriusly.

This album chose from the Ded Serius catalog the 12 songs that best portrayed the early lyrical inspirations that compelled the young writer to represent the concept, the journey, and provide a foundation to explore more evolved lyrical explorations during this brief mortal journey. These songs explore love, youth, disappointment, hope, and the fundamental answer to the question "why?"

Fear of Success is now complete and here in physical form. It is no longer my nemesis... -- Van
