Album Notes
De La Buena is a 10 piece Latin Jazz Ensemble formed in 2003 by David Wake (Kings Go Forth, Dub is a Weapon, Lee Scratch Perry), Andy Noble (Kings Go Forth, Lotus Land Records, The Pacers) and Cecilio Negron Jr. (Kings Go Forth, Cache). Since 2003, the band has grown from a trio to a 10-piece powerhouse! De La Buena has been electrifying crowds with their own modern brand of Afro-Cuban and Latin Jazz. Employing jazz harmonic sensibilities with a deep-seated love of diverse cultures, De La Buena explores the textures and rhythms of Latin music’s of the Americas with roots planted firmly in African Diasporic traditions. De La Buena is a sophisticated Latin dance band with a touch of the psychedelic. This is an album and a band you don't want to sleep on. It includes many original compositions, and covers that pay tribute to some great artists (Mulatu Astatke, WIllie Colon & David Hillyard) who have inspired and shaped De La Buena's sound and style.
