Album Notes
Delinquent is no rookie to the music industry. At the age of 16 he was signed to a well known rapper's label in Beverly Hills, CA under the group titled, III GRAND. Unfortunately, tragedy claimed the life of his fellow music partner/best friend just five days after signing this major deal. Then years later, still pursuing the dream Delinquent and his two buddies shared together... more drama became present.
Delinquent and the remaining member of the group became adults and shared different visions with their creativity.
Joey 'Delinquent' Velasquez decided to pursue music as a solo artist. Even though III GRAND had built a following throughout certain states across the USA, this decision was the best decision Delinquent feels he ever made. Many would agree that Delinquent has been the more humble and hungry one while on this journey of being heard. With meaningful lyrics and consistent performances he delivers on tracks and on stage... it is only a matter of time before people realize he's destined for this!
Listeners of Delinquent's music have all said over and over again that they can actually feel what Delinquent is saying. This means so much when you think about it. It means Delinquent can actually relate with his listeners instead of constantly talking about materialistic items and how much money he has.
Delinquent's debut solo album, "Melodic Battlefield pt. 1" is truly jam-packed with a nonstop twenty-one tracks that a variety of listeners can relate to. Back to back songs full of uncut, raw, day to day real life material. This album is long over due. Not just by Delinquent, but definitely by hip-hop. It's about time a new artist brought the game what it's been missing.
