Album Notes
Born into a musical family, Peter Dembski displayed musical talents from an early age. He first sat down at the piano at the age of three and soon showed an attraction to all kinds of music. His father was a pianist so music was always around the house. As a teen he was beginning to write music and develop the improvisational skills which had always been part of his approach to music.

During this time he also spent a good deal of time in Europe, living in Paris, Rome, Edinborough, and Perugia before he reached his twenties. After school at Yale and Bennington, Peter moved to New York where he worked in the theater and dance worlds as a pianist, arranger, and composer. In addition, he worked as a jazz musician backing up a variety of players from Cecil Payne, the elder master of the baritone saxophone, to Eric Alexander, a tenor player from the younger generation.

While he has performed throughout the U.S. and Europe, Peter also maintains an active teaching career where his specialty is teaching improvisational technique to non-improvising (classical) musicians. He divides his time between his home on the Maine coast and his New York apartment.

Peter strives to embrace a wide swath of musical styles while adding his own personal touch to the music. His direction has always been to the creative side of music, attempting to find his own voice within the wide world of sound. His two recordings, AURA (solo piano) and DOUBLE LIFE, reflect his facility in different genres. Still, his focus remains with the piano, using that instrument as his vehicle for expression.

Here's what people have said about Peter's first CD release, AURA, which has been heard on over 160 radio staions nationwide and abroad:

"AURA is inspiring and evoking." Mara Gardner-WQBK, Pine Plains NY

"I loved it." Ray White-WQCD (CD101), New York NY

"Wow! This is great music!" Scott Raymond, WVKR, Poughkeepsie NY

"People called in as soon as it was aired" Gerry Franzen- WYLT, Raleigh NC
