Album Notes
This inspirational CD, titled Decade of Hope, was released December 2011 in conjunction with a local Relay for Life themed event. It reminded us all of the tenacity and spirit of our country a decade after the 9/11/2001 tragedy. It begins with "We Are Not Defeated", a battle cry that we will not let cancer defeat our spirits regardless of its seemingly overwhelming power in our lives. The second song, "I Can Do It!" reminds us that success is ours for the taking if we only believe! The third song, which is the title song, continues to remind us of our strength in numbers as we continue to hang on years after beginning our struggle with cancer. The fourth song, "Poetry in Motion" lightens the atmosphere as it poses itself as a local anthem for the power of rhyming words to teach, inspire, and express our feelings. The fifth song, "I Am A Queen" encourages women of all ages to look for the beauty within to define themselves. The sixth song, "We Are The Best" is a salute to the power of our country and a plea for our helpless children who are become a growing statistic. The seventh song is a short chant expressing the importance of greater achievement when we work with others as opposed to trying to do everything alone. The CD ends with the last two tracks being instrumental versions of track one and three, allowing listeners to sing along if they'd like. The whole project lends itself to self motivation and reaching out to others. It is easy listening.
