Pianist/Composer Dennis Tini, WSU Distinguished Professor of Music at Wayne State University in Detroit, performs globally as a jazz pianist, choral conductor, and clinician. Tini has conducted orchestras and choruses for Hollywood movies, and is the recipient of numerous national and international awards for excellence in music performance, teaching, and leadership. Co-Founder of the WSU Jazz Studies Program, he has appeared with Buddy Rich, the Detroit Symphony Orchestra, Larry Nozero, JC Heard, Marvin Stamm, Chris Collins, the Dennis Tini Trio/Quartet, April Arabian-Tini, Jon Faddis, Don Ellis, Woody Shaw, Matt Michaels, and Bunky Green, among others., He earned his Martial Arts Black Belt in Attributes of the Modern Warrior under Guru Brad Rabe. Saxophonist, flutist, composer and arranger Russ Miller is currently an Assistant Professor of Jazz Studies at Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan where his duties include teaching jazz improvisation, jazz lab bands and jazz arranging and orchestration. His 30-year professional music career includes performances with the likes of Dizzy Gillespie, Buddy DeFranco, J.C. Heard, Rob McConnell, Jon Faddis, Joe Williams, Milt Hinton, Rosemary Clooney and Sammy Davis Jr.
