Album Notes
Derek Hintz is a singer songwriter from Medicine Hat Alberta. Over the last twelve years he has been crafting and performing his own style of roots music. With elements of folk, hillbilly, country, blues, jazz swing, and rock and roll Derek can capture any audience young and old. His lyrics straight forward and honest portray stories from his own life. Reflections of family, friends, life's simplicity's and love; as well as the social debates of modern day society echo through his music.

Over the years Derek has gotten very used to playing as a solo musician in and around the Medicine Hat area. He has also taken on numerous group efforts and can be seen with a variety of backing musicians in multiple formats. Derek has had the honour of opening and sharing the stage with a number musicians which have been incredibly influential to him and his music. Marty Stuart and His Fabulous Superlatives, John Wort Hannam, Valdy, Ben Caplan, Northcote, Cousin Harley, and many more have had such a positive impact on him and his live performances. His energy is that of pure excitement to perform for people that love to listen.
