Album Notes
Gen 12:1 The Lord had said to Abram, “Go from your country, your people and your father’s household to the land I will show you."

I wrote my song, "Never", the week before I left London, UK to start a new life in Stockholm, Sweden. London had been my home for all of my 40+ years of life so the idea of living anywhere else was both exciting and daunting. I was excited at the potential and possibilities of experiencing some place new. I felt daunted because I didn't have a plan B!

Actually, I hadn't planned to move country. I had been enduring some 'turbulence' in my day job and I decided was time to move on. When I rang my agent to find a new job, his response was that my options were limited. "There is a great company that's looking for somebody like you, " he began, "but they're based in Stockholm." I waited patiently for him to mention some other options, but there weren't any; his summary ended there.

"They'll fly you out for an interview..." he offered. Now that sounded intriguing; I reasoned that at least I'd get a short holiday out of it!
So I flew to them, and it turned out that they liked me. They offered me a job a couple days later, promising to pay to move my belongings over, to sort out my immigration and tax paperwork and to find me a new home. It was like God was opening every door that stood in my way.

So that my job was sorted, but that wasn't the only criteria I had to sort out before accepting the move. We would also have to change Church and leave our beloved community behind. However, as expected, God had that covered too. Within months, I was back to playing keys on Sundays, this time at Hillsong Stockholm.

Scroll forward a couple years, and I find myself in such an abundant season. I have favour and responsibilities at work and in the church. My wife is flourishing in her career. Our son is settled in preschool - and learning not to speak too much Swedish at me! What Jesus said in Matthew 6 about putting God's kingdom first is true - of course it is! - but I have seen it with my own eyes. It hasn't always been convenient to serve God and His church - His bride - but He has always been faithful.

Things are going well now, but that could all change in a moment. So, once again - as always - I have to trust in God, and trust that He has gone before and made a way. I have to trust that He will never leave me or forsake me. I have to trust that I have His favour, and that all things will work out for good.

It's those very thoughts that inspired this song, and I hope it inspires you in the same way!
