Album Notes
‘It's never too early to start learning about the importance of caring for our environment and all the wonderful creatures on the Earth! Join singer and children's entertainer Derek McKinley for a super fun musical time celebrating our amazing planet! Derek plays catchy songs that foster an appreciation for living healthy and environmentally aware. During his live shows children and adults in the crowd are encouraged to 'join the band' by using percussion instruments, playing eco-themed games and of course dancing!’

Singing and playing music has always been a huge part of my life as far back as I can remember...from playing with bands, djing and event planning, all the way to performing singing telegrams dressed as a penguin and a gorilla! The idea for child entertaining with SING SONG PARTY TIME all started in 2005 while I was teaching English in Japan to kindergarten children. I have always held a strong passion for music and view it as a fun way to bring people together. Some of my fave examples of this are in the songs and performances of Raffi and Fred Penner and of course the ever-funky YoGabbaGabba!. Applying the "party factor" to my lesson plans while teaching in Japan really made my classes fun and interesting for my students! After having my two boys I found myself constantly picking up the guitar and singing as a means of educating them and just plain having a blast! The joy on their faces was enough to make me want to share this fun with more children through birthday parties, festival tours and all sorts of events!

The main goal being to have a good time, be silly and enjoy ourselves :)
