ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Maui son Derick Sebastian continues to live his dream as a professional musician, sharing the sweet sounds of pure ‘ukulele in Hawai‘i and beyond. He’s toured globally throughout the US, Australia, Korea, Thailand, Philippines, and China, and his critically-acclaimed instrumental album, From His Heart, earned a Na Hoku Hanohano 2010 nomination.

The virtuoso has performed for PIXAR Animation, Grey’s Anatomy, Hollywood and international films, E! Channel and professional sports avenues like MLB, NBA, PGA, NCAA, ESPN and EA SPORTS. He has played alongside ‘ukulele ace Jake Shimabukuro and opened for R&B stars Brian McKnight and Boyz II Men, modern country music marvel Sara Evans and world Renowned Troy “Trombone Shorty” Andrews.

Drive, determination and success has taken Derick on an amazing journey in recent events. He was a featured speaker/performer at TEDx Santa Cruz, CA, and became the ‘ukulele instructor for the distinguished Andaz Maui at Wailea. Derick experienced the thrill of performing alongside Grammy-winning artist Jason Mraz, and legends Mick Fleetwood and Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler at an exclusive event recently, and was invited by Oprah Winfrey to her Maui home to perform and teach a private ukulele lesson with friends and family.

While garnering these many feats, Derick remains humble and honest in his pursuits. He remains passionately dedicated to inspiring lives through his calling, and is very grateful to impact the world with the pure sounds he evokes through the ‘ukulele. STOP. UKE.
