ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Detroit´s singer Roland Wilson (born in Detroit, MI) wrote most of the songs on the album. The site Blues Alive says the album is definitely one of the best blues albums recorded in Finland in recent years. Kal David who wrote "Hard Luck Story", and Eddy Clearwater who wrote "I Wouldn´t Lay My Guitar Down" liked Detroit´s version of their songs.
As Roland himself says: "In this recording, Detroit has regrouped to produce our fourth CD. Drummer Christer Karjalainen, bass player Teijo Saarinen and I are familiar figures to the band. Keyboard player Martti Toivari has now joined our ranks to add his own brand of artistry. As always, our intent is to record material that is closely connected to some of the many different roots influences being played when I was growing up in Detroit, MI. Though here are a variety of styles, the central theme, in my view, is still present. Witness a sound that is "Live", honest and echoes a time of musical simplicity!"
If you like this album, we think you also will like the album "Back to the Motor City", which we recorded under our new name Detroit Rhythm & Blues Band. This album is also available from CD Baby.
