ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
This is a 2011 rerelease of Detroit Illharmonic's debut album from 2002, "Lenox Avenue". During its initial release, the album charted on numerous independent radio stations worldwide. Though this is the third release of the album, the musical content has not changed.

Detroit Illharmonic Symphony features many instruments, including cello, piano, bass, guitar, trumpet, percussion, bass and turntables and their songs vary widely and wildly in form, style, mood and attitude. The title track has a "Kind of Blue" era Miles Davis vibe mixed with a Bach influenced structure and a minimalist hip hop beat. Jazz, hip hop, baroque and 60s style pop permeate the album forming something new and unique.
