Album Notes
You know that action movie? The one where the hero jumps on a motorcycle to escape the bad guys in a high speed chase, and one by one the gang of villains are taken out by the hero? The Devil Spades are the musical equivalent of that cinematic action sequence. The audience is pulled in, the anticipation rises, and until the last song is played you can reach out and grab the adrenaline.

The band's sound is as progressive and dynamic as their history, since the bands inception in 2003, with driving rhythms that parallel their motivation to perform and entertain the masses. After four national tours, five festivals, and selling over 1,200 copies of their demo CD, they've established themselves as one of the most prominent underground NYC bands.

The foundation of their sound comes from the very heart of Rock 'N Roll - Rockabilly and Country. To top it off, they've managed to layer the energy of punk rock music, modern rock, and even a touch of heavy metal - all which they seamlessly blend and utilize in their music. But don't be fooled by the blazing guitars and heavy bass slapping - they sing, too.

The visual aesthetic of the band mimics the music; it can be dark, macabre, and at times frightening, but after all is said and done, it's just a group of guys that love their job. You can tell a great story in a song, but it's way cooler if you can show people how to have a good time while doing it.

Celebrating the start of 2006, the Devil spades released their long awaited full-length CD entitled "Carnival of Freaks" on New Years Day.

Forget about labels...
...well, let me say, after i saw these guys live i was instantly hooked. i bought the cd and everything about it was great. the songs are an amazing display of a fusion psychobilly, punk rock, and just straight up rock! if you're into the cramps, the misfits, the reverend horton heat or any similar bands, check these guys out...

this cd could be the soundtrack to your worst nightmare (but in a good way)...

Not your average Psycho CD
Although this band does often get lumped into the psychobilly scene they came from, thisreviews show that they have so much more to offer. With complex songs utilizing impressive chord structures, The Devil Spades avoid the oft viewed cartoonish aspects of the genre, and put forth a truly soild release

Don't listen to this on acid!
With first listen, this album comes off as a great punk/psycho-ish album and not average at all. This band is definately going to blow up soon. With such an invigorating sound and from what I hear their live shows are amazing, they'll be taking over soon enough. Definately a must have for anybody who's into independent bands who rock the f***in' house!

Eclectic & Powerful
I heard about the buzz this band was creating on the east coast and ordered the CD. I haven't heard anything this original in a long time and highly recommend this album for any fan of genres such as punk, psycho, rockabilly, country and such. Hopefully they'll get out to the West Coast soon!
