Album Notes
Dark Green Bottles is a Chicago Quartet, who have been together for 2 and a half years.

Jack Cunningham, John Sabal and Evan Cantor began playing as an acoustic trio in coffee-houses and small bars.

When preparing to record the debut CD, "Waterline", the band decided they needed to add a drummer to the mix.

The result was incredible.

Kris Meyers, of Umphree's McGee, sat in on drums for the recording sessions.

The recording of the album took six days.

Each player, basically, completed their parts for the album in one day.

For the recording, they chose to work with Blaise Barton, who has worked with Liz Phair, Ike Reilly, Pedal Steel Transmission, and Bob Dylan.

The album was released in the spring of 2003.

"Waterline" showcases Dark Green Bottles' incredible musicianship and songwriting.

The band has begun to earn a following based on the strength of their live performances and their songwriting.

Audiences are delighted by Cunningham's soaring vocals, Sabal's beautiful lead guitar work, Cantor's smooth, melodic bass playing, the precision and power of new drummer, Steve Osterman, and, of course...the songs.

The band, as it is now, haven't played together very long, but you wouldn't know it if you heard them.

Wow! Caught me off guard
I heard the song "Waterline" on 93.1 WXRT's Local Anesthetic Capsule. I really liked it, so I checked out their website and came hear and bought the album on a lark. What a fortutitous lark it was... this is a great album. "Waterline", "A Dog Called Ego" and "luna" are really just fantastic tunes. This is worth every penny. Buy it now!

I ran into this band on the uncommon ground website with the intent to see them play live. I never got to the show, but I still couldn't resist buying the CD. The band blends well together; the more I listen to the CD, the more I like it -- keep doing live shows and writing more songs!

Seamless, from start to finish.
I've heard some of these played live and the recording captures that sound exactly. Jack's voice has never sounded stronger and all the music is seamless. Great job, guys! Your #1 Colorado fan approves!!

Great stuff
Scroll up, click on tracks 3 & 9. Then try NOT to buy this great disc. Great melodies and harmonies, and expert musicianship. 4 stars.

The title speaks volumes!
These guys rock! I first heard Jack & John in Griffin's Pub in Chicago playing a mix of Waterline and other greats. This album is the first of many, I hope! Waterline should be in everyones CD player. I am bringing this new music out to the West Coast for my friends.

listen to luna, again and again
luna is just an amazing song. superior song writing.

Buy this cd.......seriously....
I saw these guys at Hoghead McDunna's one night when I went to see a friend's band play. They blew me away live so I bought their cd. It hasn't been out of my cd player since!....and that was a month ago! Gorgeous vocals, intoxicating melodies, glorious harmonies, and a general good time! Love them.......can't wait to see them live again.......:)

did not know what I was getting, but love it!
My kids programmed my ipod and added your music to it. I love it! I listen to it constantly. Really original, modern and edgy with a hint of classical technique. I am going to give my kids my ipod and hope for some more.
keep up the good work!
