ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
DI3 is:
Dave Isaacs - guitar & vocals
Brook Sutton - upright and electric bass, vocals
Robert Crawford - drums and percussion

guest musicians on "Torch":
Jimmy Bowland - sax
Scott Hallgren - organ
Anna Verhelst - vocals

In the tradition of the great improvisational power trios like Cream and Led Zeppelin, DI3 is rooted in the blues, but the band's love for Southern soul, jazz, and funk come through in their deep grooves and near-telepathic interaction. These three musicians of uncommon skill and versatility stomp, swing, and strut through the many branches of American roots music, maintaining a distinct and compelling personality all the while. Bassist Brook Sutton and drummer Robert Crawford are a peerless rhythm section, driven by the unmistakeable sound of Sutton's native New Orleans and Crawford's jazz mastery. Guitarist/vocalist Dave Isaacs brings his rich baritone, a songwriter's sense of story and melody, and a bluesman's growl and wail. Together, DI3 form an airtight unit and the very definition of a whole that surpasses the sum of its parts.
