Album Notes
This song is about a very recent and personal experience that I went through during the past 3 years. It's about relationships, love, trust, betrayal, affairs, lies, trickery, deception and a whole whirl wind of emotional turmoil that occurs when you find out that the object of your love, your hope, your affection has lied, cheated, committed adultery and has betrayed you more than you could ever express in words or could have ever even imagined.
I tell the story of how I experienced a dark and gloomy rainbow of piercing emotions, feeling so much anger and harboring hatred in my heart, but then, because of who I am and more importantly, whose I am, I am determined to forgive... no matter how hard it is and no matter how badly I am wounded both physically as well as secretly on the inside.
I swallow my pride and tell vengeance and the desire to retaliate and to become vindictive "No!" Choosing rather to say yes to the Word of God, to God Himself, which allows me to be freed and to unite with peace.
Hatred and anger destroy our soul. As believers we are taught in the scriptures that if we do not forgive, our Heavenly Father can't and won't forgive us. I want to make it into Heaven and I refuse to let anyone and anything that has been done to me or that I have done to myself keep me out. I had to learn to forgive people, but I also, throughout this whole entire journey, had to learn to forgive myself.
Death was swimming in the pool in my backyard, persistently knocking on my door; it came close, too close to me. I am so glad to be alive. Suicide was not the answer, it never is, and I knew that neither drugs nor alcohol could ever solve the pain. They would all just contribute to leading me further and deeper into darkness, into death and more shame.
I thank God for all that He has done in my life. I wouldn't have made it, I wouldn't have created this song, I wouldn't have met beautiful people like my Engineer and Producer and now friend Ray Ippolito, who did such an INCREDIBLE job on this track, a musical mastermind and genius... or my incredibly gifted and talented personal Videographer, F. Calis of M-Duce Vision and now, dear friend, if it wasn't for God.
I pray that this song, gives all of it's listeners an experience that they too will never forget, with hopes of inspiring them to forgive and to let go and keep on going, and to live with true love, hope and peace inside of their hearts, knowing that their suffering was not in vein and neither has any of their pain been forgotten by God. God sees all. He's always watching and listening and though we may not understand why He allows certain things to happen to us or in life in general, in the world… we can be assured that it is indeed for a very specific purpose. A purpose that we will only discover if we deliberately choose not to ever give up and quit. Choose to go on. Choose life, it does get better. Salted wounds do heal. I encourage my listeners to love, love others, love themself, forgive and be set free. In Jesus name, Amen.
