Monotony Calling

Slight prog influenced music with folk and jazz and classical influences. Piano and violin feature on some tracks. Thoughtful introspective vocals. With some cinematic soundscapes and occasional nods towards electronica and little bit of rock too.

ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
This is my latest collection of songs and instrumental music from the last 2 years or so. Its quite eclectic in its scope though I hope not obscure. I have a very wide number of influences, but there the main thrust is perhaps a mixture of Jazz, folk and classical music sounds and textures with a couple of more rock influenced tunes thrown in. and a touch of electronica on one number. So I suppose its sort of prog in its scope.

I am not too sure what it says about me but having reached my 60th year I felt it was time for another proper release. I don't play this material live anywhere, but I do work with other musicians in live performance and I do the occasional song of mine with them.

However on this album everything is played, sung and so forth by yours truly. My main instruments now are Violin and Piano and Keyboards. I also play guitar and you will hear that on this album too.

I have a fair amount of material in the pipeline which may surface a future date if the fates allow. If you Google Diana Stone Music you will see a few things I am involved it.
