ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Featured on ABC tv “Good Morning New Orleans, New Orlean’s radio “WWOZ”, Jazz 88.3 “Second Line Parade” radio show, and Boogie on the Bayou radio.

A series of guest star artists pay tribute to New Orleans. Get ready for a soulful mix of rock/blues/jazz & folk. These songs were handpicked by an International song contest based on storytelling, soulfulness and that mysterious quality that makes you lose yourself in a song.

PRESS: Review: Altcountryforum.nl "You can call this an ode to New Orleans (four years after Katrina) because of it’s right mixture of style forms, a definite success. You will hear a fabulous mix of folk, Americana, jazz, blues, southern rock and a modest dose of Zydeco. I have been in America several times but unfortunately never have been able to taste the direct atmosphere of New Orleans. This record with its serious variety of artists is for the present a real sweet keeper."

From Juno award winning blues artist Kenny "Blues Boss" Wayne letting loose on Raging Storm, to Jimmy Rip lending his toe tapping acoustic blues on "Playing Hooky" (producer for Jerry Lee Lewis's last album) to Liza Minnelli sideman & jazz artist Johnny Rodgers pulling you in with his lively "Miss Dixie", the cd hops with talent.

You won't believe the "Lynyrd Skynyrd-ish" rocker "Only Thing She Needs" is by a 16yr old blues artist from Louisiana & his 14yr old twin brothers. The siren song "Pretty Marie pays homage to the legendary voodoo queen Marie Laveau. Crawfish Pie is a get up and dance the night away number while the folky Bourbon Street is a fond remembrance of what makes the “South” special. Louisiana gal Jenny Brooks delivers with a toe tapping "Down in the Bayou" tale.

The Snake Charmers bluesy “Big Big Love” portrays two lovers that could only spring from New Orleans. Domenic Fusca rocks you with his soulful “New Orleans”. Then finish off with the Dylan-esque title track "Love Song to New Orleans". Before you know it you will be wondering what took you so long to visit New Orleans!
