ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
This collection of salty songs includes ballads, shanteys, and riveting tales of sea-going adventure. Diane sings of shipwrecks, sea monsters, lost expeditions, and lovers adrift on the tides of passion in her crystal-clear voice, entering the spirit of each song with just the right style.

Most of these selections come from Diane’s previous recordings, and two are new: “Lady Franklin’s Lament” and “Leave Her, Johnny.”

Five a cappella tracks showcase Diane's voice all on its own. Others add her guitar and dulcimer, and still more include whistle, fiddle, and luscious harmonies.
