ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Dianne Eclar Let It Fall

Let It Fall is the new CD by Manila-born, sixteen year old singing sensation Dianne Eclar. After having lived in the D.C. area for ten years, Dianne has returned now to the Philippines to complete her education and pursue her singing career.

The lyrics for the title track, "Let it Fall," were written by Dianne when she was thirteen. Along the way, Japanese pop star Angela Aki contributed two stellar songs "What Can I Do?" and "It Is I" while other tracks include the Joni Mitchell classic "Both Sides Now," and the spiritual "Sometimes I Feel Like a Motherless Child." Two songs are sung in Dianne's native Tagalog language: "Himig Natin" (Our Hymn), and "Kay Sarap Pala" (How Good It Is).

Contributing musicians include bass player extraordinaire Dave Marsh, guitar wizard John Albertson, tasteful drummer Coleman O'Donoghue and Jazz saxophonist Peter Fraize. Carey Creed, Dianne and Elise added the vocals.

Let It Fall
This is my second review of the album, the first being about two years ago. It has stood the test of time and it remains one of my favorites because of the promise of true greatness in her voice and ability to convey her experience of life through her voice, lyrics, and music. I especially like the songs in Pilipino because of the sincerity that comes through without knowing the words (I spent some time with my Pilipino dictionary and the words matched what my feelings as when I first listened. I am sure as she pursues her art and develops her instrument she will be a treasure of both the Philippines and the U.S. The musicians on the album did an excellent job in keeping with the spirit of her singing. She also had excellent back-up vocals.

The album is the result of a group of fine musicians and vocal artists believing in Ms. Eclar and her project. I pray that she continues to develop her gifts. David Brady U.S.A.

Diane Eclar Let It Fall
A very fine first album. The musicians were definitely in rapport with the artist. She has natural talent and already shows excellent control of her voice. Her technical mastery of her voice is evident in her ability to take produce changes without a break in her register. I look forward to future albums from Ms. Eclar. With further development of her voice she will become a "singer's singer".
