Album Notes
Dick Weissman’s music has been described as “like an independent movie, in the best possible way.”
In addition to banjo and guitar, Dick plays a banjola, a banjo with a wooden head, and an octagon, an octave mandolin with a shorter scale. Guest artist Mitch Iimori plays a a group of woodwind instruments and dulcimer, and greatly contributes to the proceedings.
Dick is known as an innovative banjo and guitar stylist, whose original music has appeared on TV and in films on NBC, BBC and in several independent movies. His banjo playing encompasses a variety of original techniques that he has developed over the years.
Over the years Dick has written numerous instrumental pieces and songs, and was a member of the legendary folk-pop group The Journeymen. Since then he has done extensive studio work, and general performs as a soloist.
