ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
In November 2004, the prog-rock band Different Strings emerged from the tiny Maltese islands to release the very first single from a vast repertoire that was ready to be recorded for their future releases. The single was "Dead man walking". It included also an acoustic shorter version on the CD single.

After a decade and an incredible year of local success that includes the winning of the local Hard Rock Rising Global Battle of the Bands and ending 9th among 86 global Hard Rock locations, several other great live performances including live at Marsa Sports Grounds in aid of Puttinu, Music From Elsewhere Festival, Farsons Great BeerFest, Notte Bianca and others.

All these live events delayed temporarily the band's release of their third album now scheduled for 2015, but the chemistry was so great that the extended live interpretation of Dead man walking was so welcomed by all the audiences that it was decided to record it the way we played it live and release it as the 10th anniversary of the beginning of Different Strings debut single.

With its extended length of 9:29 minutes, the band captured the magic of the great musicians that form the band including the mind behind it all, Chris Mallia on keyboards, Hammond organ and backing vocals, Johann Tabone on Bass, Errol Cutajar on vocals and the incredible young guitarist Kurt Aquilina. On drums, although not present on the record, we had Julian Mallia, present for all our live performances.

This recording captures the great momentum the band is in at the moment and it's a teaser of the great material from their album, "The Sounds of Silence - part II", to be released in 2015.
