Album Notes
In early 2019, following the release of his tenth album "X", Dig would enter a tumultuous period music-wise. He would form and subsequently disband his three-piece rock band "Rusted Shovel" after what was shaping up to be promising group. After this, Dig would join the supergroup "the Stellar Jays" only to promptly exit that project as well. These repeated acts of exodus left Dig with a desire to return to the simplicity of being a solo singer songwriter. He would return to his sanctuary of Avocado Studios to release a new single filled with warmth, love, and hope. Throughout the summer of 2019, he worked on "Morning Flight"

His bittersweet lyrics painted an Icarus-like tale of a young fledgling new to flight and an older aviator weary from the weather of the world. Two kinds of love are expressed in the song: one youthful and optimistic with a zest and passion for the world, the other nurturing protective and concerned. The piece consists of Dig’s trademark finger-style guitar, this time backed with the orchestral arrangements reminiscent of a Nick Drake tune. The english horns and gentle string sounds paint the imagery of a warm early morning.

The cover art was done by artist Ben Chavez who captured the warm imagery of the song.

It is the hope of Dig, that the listener can also feel all of this in "Morning Flight", and enjoy it!
