Gene Bates, Whispering Wind Magazine

Journalist, poet, author and host of Native Voice One's 'Rezervations with Dawn Karima', Pettigrew's (Creek/ Cherokee) poetry paired with Tommy Wildcat's Nammy-award winning flute is pure magic! Reading from her original works, the former Ms. Native American Worldwide's wonderful voice and wary words strike a familiar chord in all of us. Pettigrew's deft delivery and flawless phrasing are the perfect counterpoint to Wildcat's hypnotic flute passages. Not your usual coffee house fare, this poetry is poignant, topical, and smart! Outstanding tracks include the title cut, 'The Worship of Angels', a marvelous 'recipe' for culture clash entitled, 'The Boiling Point of Conquest' and the wonderfully engaging, ' Indigenous Standard Time' - Great Stuff!
A sure bet for the,"Best Spoken Word' category at this year's NAMMYS, 'The Worship of Angels' is 'heavenly'!
