Album Notes
david's story is one of tenacious faith and gentle passion. On July 4, 1996, doctors told david he had a malignant brain tumor and would be dead by Christmas. david left his corporate career and returned to his first love of songwriting and performing and set out to share the hope on which his life depended. Eight years, nine albums, 39 states and hundreds of concerts later, david and his music are alive and well.
The son of Presbyterian missionaries, david spent his childhood in Beirut, Lebanon. He learned his first chords from his seventh grade English teacher, then went on to study classical guitar. david soon began writing his own songs and first entered the studio at the age of 13. The Lebanese civil war forced him to complete high school in Germany where he spent his weekends as a street musician; during these years he also formed a small ensemble that toured throughout Central and Eastern Europe. In college, he played extensively in an original acoustic duo, but then put his guitar away and entered corporate America. Ten years later, following his diagnosis,he returned to the stage in what has become an amazing full-time calling.
david's songs are reminiscent of folk legends like James Taylor and Cat Stevens, though he also points to the work of Kahlil Gibran and J.S. Bach as being influential in his writing. Strong melodies and intricate finger picking set a perfect backdrop for his warm baritone as he delivers keen and witty insights about his favorite topics: time, faith, hope, love, and dreams. Hailed as a "prophet with a guitar, " david pens lyrics that resonate with surprising depth and clarity among audiences of all ages, keeping his music both universal and timeless.
His story has been featured on CBS News/48 Hours, 60 Minutes, Fox/Health, Family Health channel, and NPR; articles about him have appeared in newspapers and magazines across the country. He was a 2003 Kerrville NewFolk winner and his recordings have received many other songwriting awards. Yet it is alone with his audiences where david finds his greatest joy: from Beirut to Budapest, from Pittsburgh to Portland, and on hundreds of stages in between, he has inspired and entertained thousands of listeners. In churches, conference centers and coffeehouses, david challenges all of us to live passionately and to treasure the beauty of each new day.

So Inspiring
David's words are so inpiring to me. I have gone through three brain surgeries for the same kind of cancer he was fighting and am in my mid twenties. His words and follow of the Lord are so powerful that I listen to him many times each day with inspiration. Thanks David!

So inspirational and so gifted!
I have become just a great fan of David's inspiring lyrics and music. Only heard of him this past January and I have all his albums. He is my daily prayer and motivation when I listen to him on my long commute to work. I am to fascinated by his choices of words which paints such beautiful pictures. I play his music over and over and never get tired of listening and relating to him. I feel blessed to have experienced one of his live performances. Such remarkable soulful talent!

My favorite and most often played David Bailey CD!
I purchased this CD very shortly after I bought "One More Day" - my intro to David Bailey. Again, I was so pleased! These songs are gentle, yet powerful, catchy (I find myself humming them all the time) and always sincere. David's poetry makes me think about what's really important, and I'm so thankful I've not had to endure the same things as he. Somehow, my petty problems don't seem to matter much after listening to him sing. He has been through a lot, but as the title says "Peace", so is he and his life reflects in his beautiful narratives.

The words are very movingnd motivating
To me, a brain tumor survivor, peace means a positive outlook on life. This CD captures this attitude; an approach to living that carries us upward.

A true gift to others
I purchased 3 of these CDs. One for myself and two more to give to two very special people. One person is my sister and the other is her friend newly diagnosed with cancer. All three of us attended a house concert and listened to the artist in person. We are all in our thirties. What an extraordinary experience! I listen to this music at every given opportunity and find myself thinking about the lyrics throughout the day. The lyrics give me a sense of peace that I haven't had for a very long time. I've heard that music can move a person but this is real.

Great songs filled with inspiration and hope.
This is a CD you will never grow tired of. I have been listening
to it since it was first released and I still hear something new
every time. David has a way of touching the deepest part of your
soul with his words and tunes. Even my children love to hear
his songs. You should see/hear my daughters' rendition of Dogwood
Days! Unlike many CDs you will not want to skip over any of these
songs. Well worth the money!!!

Beautiful expression of the 'peace' that comes with God's grace
This is my (at least current) favorite of david m. bailey's cds. Although I enjoy every song, LIVE FOREVER gives me so much hope and IN MY LIFE brings such peace. My brother who mainly listens to heavy metal music, loves this CD. It makes a wonderful gift for anyone on your list.

The lyrics made me cry, because fo their honest heartfelt determination.
Our son Nathan passed away from a brain tumour last year age 20, and I bought this CD to commemorate all those courageos people with this. Only when I heard it did i realise what a true gem this CD is.I am a nurse, and 'Live forever' so well depicts the death sentence health professionals give with this illness. But just as the song says, someone has to be that 1 in 500 who survives. Wonderful lyrics in every song. They made me cry, in their honesty.
