Child's Play

by Doc Mason

I set out to create a Children's "Record" that could be enjoyed by the young, the old, and everyone in between. I think of it as songs all persons, regardless of age, should know by heart. From the feedback I have received, I succeeded. Listen & Enjoy!

ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
When CD Baby asks me to label my music within some specific genre, it is truly difficult to do. As a child, I was exposed to a wide range of musical styles and genres. As a young man, I listened to, and appreciated many different styles of music. At the age of 35, in 1985, I experienced what I consider to be an epiphany in my life. That is when I began to experience the "magic" songwriting, and I have written a number of songs throughout the ensuing years. Now, as I have been playing guitar for over 40 years, I have reached a point in my development where I can adapt my unique style to just about any song that I have the urge to learn. Over the past few years, I have amassed a good many songs that I have been able to record, and with the help my good friend, Ben B. Beckendorf, who accompanies me on the Fender Fret-less Bass, we provide a rhythm section which gives ample backbone to which I add the musical talents of some additional fancy guitar pickers, Fiddle/Violinists, as well as the occasional Banjo. My earlier "Records" consisted of more original, previously un-known, and still unknown to most folks. These later works feature some of my original songs mixed with some classic, well known songs by my musical influences. My busy life as a father of what are now 5 grown children and my profession as an Emergency Room Physician, has not allowed me to play and promote the music I have written. Ultimately I had to make the decision to record, so as to document my music. I invested in a home recording studio and now have 6 total Music Projects that I will be releasing over the coming months, starting with "Child's Play;" to be followed in November with a Holiday/Christmas Seasonal "Album," which includes 3 new songs, written by myself. I hope you will support me in my musical endeavor.
