Album Notes
I first started in the business back in the 60's on a Canadian television (CBC) on a show called "Singalong Jubilee" in a group called "The Townsmen" and later with my own group "The Don Burke 4". I left the group and the show in 65 to go to France to work on a degree in French (as I was a French teacher at the time). When in Paris I used to go to the American Center where they would have Hootenanies on Tuesday night and a sort of open mike night. One thing led to another and I found myself in another group called "Les Troubadours" (not very original!) I worked with this group for the next 20 years singing and playing through out Europe, Africa and Asia. These were the best 20 years of my life for both the music and the people I worked with.
I came back to Canada in the late 80's and I decided 10 years later to make my first solo CD and here it is. All the songs are of my own composition and recorded in my home town of Halifax Nova Scotia with all local musicians and proud of it. Here's hoping you'll give it a listen to.

The french group with Don was called 'Les Troubadours'
Sorry, I have not listened to this record, but I think it is important that when searching for 'Les Troubadours', one finds this site.
