Album Notes
This self-produced (and self-funded by working and saving) CD was recorded over a 3 & 1/2 year period by traveling from Chicago to Nashville to record at Creative Caffeine in Berry Hill, TN. Some wonderful musicians who played include Andy Leftwich of Ricky Skaag's band and Jeff Taylor of The Time Jumpers. Also appearing in duets are popular Chicago folk musician Mark Dvorak and Nashville songwriter Buddy Mondlock. Stories to Keep landed on the favorite lists of WDCB's Folk Festival show with Lilli Kuzma, "The Back Porch" hosted by Al Kniola and Norm Mast, and "Americana Breakdown" hosted by Art Hanson. The record charted in the top 200 on the National Folk DJ list in 2012.

Donna Adler steps comfortably into the shoes of the men and women who have bared their souls with only a guitar as backup. Donna Adler is your guide on self-discovery (“Why Do I Believe”), advice “Marry Me (Before I Marry Him), and a look into how others have navigated their lives and found inspiration (“Visions of Pontito”), (“Poor Lewis Schroeder”). She carries a story with delicacy. She captures thoughts and themes with the care of holding a butterfly.
