I came to America in 1960. The opportunity that the US has provided my family and me cannot be measured by words. I love this country and its people. In 2016, I decided it was finally time get off my butt and go through the process of becoming a US citizen. I don’t know what took me so long to do my duty. I think in part, I was just lazy. The other part was the feeling that my vote, my voice, didn’t really matter. That is NOT the American way. The many faces I saw during my citizenship ceremony inspired this song.

Album Notes
Our country has had many voices. Some I have highlighted below. One thing remains consistent, America is truly the land of the free and the home of the brave. This song was inspired by the many faces I saw during my citizenship ceremony. There were so many families present to watch the swearing in ceremony. You could see the pride in their faces. When we all stood up to recite the Pledge of Allegiance, there wasn't a dry eye in the room. It was such an amazing and emotional experience and hopefully this comes through in this song. Stand by America
