Album Notes
Dopess Alliance is a collaboration of young hot independent rap artists and a musician/ producer who began making music together while attending Los Angeles High School. After graduating in June 2010 they decided to make the crew official and Dopess Alliance (D.A.) was born. Representing their Mid City L.A. roots since their inception, the D.A. collective have been writing, recording, performing (in local showcases and pay for play venues), and promoting their music on social media and where ever else opportunities present themselves. Learning the challenges and triumphs of the music business first-hand they are more determined than ever to get their music to the masses.

The first official project from D.A. comes from P.jay (rap artist/performer) and Fresh (producer/rap artist/performer). They released their first single, “Right Back”, from their soon to be released mixtape titled, U.N.I. (Volume I), on December 11, 2013 on iTunes and Amazon.com to positive feedback/reviews. Internet radio spins have allowed “Right Back” to be heard worldwide by hundreds of music listeners, thus far, earning D.A. fans along the way. Their goal is to get “Right Back” heard on college campuses and in the hands of club and radio DJ’s, locally and eventually nationally, then globally.

Patrick Henry Knight, Jr. aka P.jay Picasso aka P.jay Corleone, 21 years old, is a true lyricist and performer. He has been penning poetry since the age of five-- following the violent untimely death of his father, Patrick Knight, Sr.. Expressing his emotions through poetry, and now lyrics, has allowed him a creative outlet for the depth of pain and anguish he has endured as a result of such a great loss. Music has been a safe haven for him. Instead of unleashing his feelings on himself or others by way of causing harm, he instead takes his pen to paper, and then lets it rip in the studio and on stage. He has recently adopted the name Corleone from “The Godfather” films notoriety as a way to pay homage to his usually raunchy and hard-core street vibe. As he continues to grow as a human being, his artistry will surely follow. He recently stated that he “can be more conscious like rapper Common” but right now he’s “just having fun”.

Christian R. Frazier aka Fresh, 21 years old, is a self-taught musician (guitar, keyboards, drums) and producer first, rapper and performer second. Back during his L.A. High days, Fresh was only focused on making hot beats but things took a turn during a studio session when he was encouraged to rap by one of his crew. He followed suit and has since incorporated writing, rapping (even singing), and performing into his repertoire. Fresh comes from a large family of musical talent starting with his father Ray who was the lead singer of the ’70’s R& B group, Ray Frazier & The Shades of Madness. His mother Crystal was a star in her own right as a lead vocalist in their church choir. The church is where Fresh got his start in music, playing several instruments in the church band starting with drums when he was only four years old. He has since hung up his choir robe to focus on making raps and beats for D.A. but vows to return once he is in a position to “give back”.

P.jay, Fresh, and the Dopess Alliance collective, are talented, dedicated, hard-working artists with every potential of being the next big thing in rap music. Though each hold down “day jobs” they are beyond ready to trade in their time clocks for the world stage. All they need are the right people with the right connections to believe in them as much as they believe in themselves and give them the chance to prove their worth.
