Album Notes

Doug Adamz is a masterful guitar player, a soulful singer, and an outrageous harmonica player. Add the insightful poetry of his lyrics and his terrific sense of humor, Doug puts on a show you’ll never forget. Some of his songs are engaging stories, some are reflective or philosophical, and sometimes he just gets down with the blues.

Adamz has two solo albums; “Bernardo’s Serenade” (a collection of songs) and “Guitar Solos” (a beautiful instrumental album of original pieces for solo acoustic guitar). Some of his works have been performed by The Joffrey Ballet and The Kronos Quartet and used in major motion picture and television soundtracks.

He currently lives in the outback of Marin County, north of San Francisco of which he has said, “Ain’t nothing between Tomales Bay and the North Pole but an oyster bed.” He grew up in El Paso, Texas (“Where apathy is the biggest problem, but nobody cares”) and has been unable to shake the musical influence of his formative years in that unique cultural environment.

Bernarndo’s Serenade is a journey down a river, with tales along the way, with tears and laughs
and lots of love. ‘Men Don't Cry’ gave me the chills.

He is an excellent guitarist...a terrific guitarist!

Adamz is one of the most versatile musicians I know.
Marin Independent Journal

One of the very best the Bay Area has to offer.

Doug is a tremendous singer, songwriter, guitarist, fiddler and harmonicist.

It was indeed a remarkable show. Going in, we knew that Doug was a great musician. But we had no idea he was such a phenomenal entertainer. We knew that yesterday's performance would be filled with beautiful guitar music, but we were totally unprepared for the entertainment package that came with it. Simply put, his performance was one of those "I can't believe it is over already" experiences that come along but rarely in our lives.

Doug is one of those rare artists who is both a great musician and a superb performer. And that's about as good as it gets. It was pure magic!

House Concert Series

I was absolutely BLOWN AWAY by the album, Bernardo’s Serenade!

Linda and I heard Doug Adamz play live for the first time several months ago at the “Acoustic Vortex”, a Marin county house concert series.  Doug is an multi-talented incredible musician, who also happens to be very funny and exudes a warmth about him while on stage.  Doug managed to get the entire audience involved in his performance and had everyone in stitches.  We left that evening commenting what a great performance we just were part of.
