Album Notes
This isn\'t your typical dulcimer album. My rock and folk rock roots are showing.

The album features audiophile sound quality and mastering.

These are songs and tunes that I\'ve been playing for many years. Many are songs I\'ve written, some are traditional. There are two instrumental tracks featuring traditional tunes.

All tracks feature my dulcimer playing and some of the songs contain extended instrumental parts

A number of the tracks are just voice and dulcimer. On some tracks I have added harmonium, whistle, percussion and Jew\'s harp and piano.

I have been performing since the mid 1970’s. During the 1980’s I toured throughout the United States and performed at many folk festivals, dulcimer festivals and concert venues.

In 1983 I took first place in both the National Hammered Dulcimer Championship and the National Mountain Dulcimer Championship in Winfield, Kansas.

I have appeared as a support musician on many albums and soundtracks. I am also a former member of the Celtic ensemble Colcannon.

When I was first drawn to the dulcimer and hammered dulcimer I was unaware that many considered these instruments to be musically limited. As I taught myself to play I assumed that any walls I came up against were because caused by my lack of ability, not the potential of the instrument.

Songs From My Past
Ahhh! Great to hear the "old" Doug from the Cosby years ('70's). Great CD for those that knew him in the "old" days and a great reminder of how beautiful the dulcimer can be played no matter how long you have played it!
