Album Notes
Nine original love songs, and one awesome cover. This is Doug's first solo album, released in 2003, to many rave reviews. Doug has captured both romance and joy, delivering fresh vocals on every song. The compositions are all top notch writing, beginning with the amazing "Woman of a Certain Age". His next song, "You, You, You" will have you humming the tune all day long. The song, "Everywhere I Go" is certain to become a classic standard, loved by many generations. The final track is an homage to those songs from Tin Pan Alley, the fabulous "Beyond the Blue Horizon".

A remarkable musical journey through life, love and harmony.
Like a Ten of Hearts pick up in a poker game, Doug Blumer tells us how life's gambles are often satisfied more in our attitude and approach than in the cards we're dealt. With humour, an ecclectic but congruent approach and, dare we say pizzaz, Ten of Hearts evokes in music all the mysteries, joys and heartaches of a mature, real life journey. Get this CD and you won't regret it, but don't miss the chance to see him live! I stumbled into a Doug Blumer performance one evening in San Francisco and immediately sought out the CD. Thanks Doug!

Knocks my socks off!
What a player! What a singer! The real deal. Why haven't the record companies grabbed this guy up? What's the matter with this world anyway? Easy, sweet, romantic to the Nth degree! The only thing wrong with the record is that there isn't more of it!!!

What a crooner! Look out Frank Sinatra...Well, maybe not Frank
Easy, good listening, yet moving. Wonderful tones, heartful delivery. His employment of words, guitar music, and emotion makes each song significant. Would like to hear Doug do "Chances Are" (which Johnny Mathis did so well)and "Flowers on the Wall" (Statler Bros.)
