ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Doug began writing music in Key West Florida and has never fully recovered from living and sailing in the Florida Keys. Based in the San Francisco Bay Area, his nautical bent in music and friends continues to undermine his potential as a singer-song writer (LOL).

"It's Getting Harder to Get Up in the Morning" is for all of us to smile at and "Me and Julio Down by the School Yard" is another fun, upbeat tune. From sea faring classics such as "Greenland Fisheries" (no whales were harmed in the making of this music), "Rock in me Boot" and "Leave Her Johnny" to hopeful songs like the "The Tannery", Doug's voice takes on a journey through time, space, and far off lands where a injured knight, brave of heart, goes in search of the mysterious Witch of the West Merelands.

Good friends contributed both to the fine sound and joy of recording these songs for you. We hope you enjoy the variety of songs on this CD. This CD is a taste of the fun to be Thursday nights at LJ Quinn's Lighthouse on the Oakland Embarcadero where Doug can be found with a number of his musical, sea music loving friends from the Starboard Watch Band.
