ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Jazz Flute at its best! Doug has a beautiful big sound and shows off his improvisational "chops". If you like to hear jazz that doesn't abandon a melody and delivers great grooves with some Latin influences, you will enjoy this album. Some highlights: "E & S" - close your eyes and picture yourself cruising through the Mediterranean. "El Mercado" is everyone's favorite; starts with a fanfare cadenza and breaks into a spirited Latin tune. Don't miss the bass solo. "I'll Remember April" provides some fast straight ahead blowing in the true jazz tradition. It's always a joy to hear musicians play over "changes." "Summer Days" offers the funkier side of the group and turns Bruce loose on his rocker side of playing. "Moondance" offers a refreshing approach to the Van Morrison hit. All the tracks on this album have a contemporary flair and just great to listen to. The group includes Bruce Middle on guitar, Paul Henry on Bass, and Toby Fairchild on drums.
