Hello Again

by Doug Wilson

A expressive, versitile, strong but smooth male voice, singing a variety of well known songs and ballads. The choice of songs are not drama filled depressing songs, but rather intimate songs about love, truth and life. There is original work here too.

Album Notes
I have sung and wrote songs all my life and it's all I ever wanted to do. I used to sing when I was younger and I think it was in many ways to gain acceptance. I told myself if I was not making a living at music by the age of 30, I would find a, "real job" and move on. So I did. In 2000 I stopped singing and writing and became a Police Officer. In many ways it fits my personality and my desire for fairness and to fight for the, "little guy". I never fully let go of my dream to sing.

One thing led to another and I hit some bumps in the road in 2006 and ended up as an Iraqi Police Advisor, serving my country in Iraq. It changed my life. I promised myself if I came back alive, I would sing again and record another CD, not because I needed to, but because music is how I express my deep emotions and connection with our world. I felt a growing desire to continue that.

So here it is. "Hello Again" A self funded CD of music that are mostly covers. The songs say what I want to say and illustrates much of how I view the world today. The song choice was difficult and I had limitations that I could not control. I tried to choose songs that moved me emotionally but I also wanted to do something different with them vocally, even though most of the arrangements are the same due to budget constraints. I was creative in mixing, editing and arranging. I worked with a great studio tech, but aside from him and some helpful advice from trusted friends, this was a solo venture.

I found MY voice during this project. I can still remember singing in the booth and sometimes getting so into what I was singing, I had to stop because I started to cry. I hope you like the end result.

I am currently still a Police Officer in The SF Bay Area.
