Album Notes
Come Join The Fun with Down By The Docks

Thousands of children have enjoyed their visits with Down By The Docks over the past
three years. The show's regulars have performed indoors, outdoors, rain, shine and even
in the cold to appreciative audiences everywhere. Everyone always has fun with songs like "I Was A Sailin My Boat, dancing to the Lobster Crawl, taking imagination voyages with "Picture In The Sky" and making animal sounds with "Let's Make A Sound". Of course everyone looks forward to the awesome performance of the Down By The Docks World Famous Kitchen Band which now has over 300 members and continues to grow with each live performance. So if you hear Down By The Docks is sailing in to your town, join Daryl, Karly, Shantelle and Leroy The Lobster for an exciting, fun time.

The Performers

Daryl Robb - has been performing for 35 years. In the 90's he achieved minor
success in Northern Alberta with his group, Daryl Robb & The Northern Focus (which
later became the duo Sweet Fever). The group received radio airplay and sold many
recordings of their cassette, "The Writer". Daryl later went solo after moving to B.C. in
which he organized a Folk Night for aspiring musicians. He also wrote and performed on
the Folk Night show which has been televised by Shaw Community TV. Daryl has also
acted in commercials and the mini-series, Small Sacrifices, starring Farrah Fawcett and
John Shea and has directed and produced shows for Community TV. Included in Daryl's background is years of public relations, promotions and media advertising sales. He has organized many music events such as Battle of the Bands, Concerts and the Merritt Lions Kids Day Children's Festival. which featured many performers and attracted over 1000 people.

His inspiration for Down By The Docks came from his daughter, Shantelle, who loves
music. He sang the new songs for her and she loved the new tunes which led to the show.

Daryl writes 90% of the scripts and practically all the original songs. He enjoys
performing with Down By The Docks for as he says, " There's nothing better in this world
than a child with a smile."
Daryl is 41 years old, happily married with one daughter.

Karly Keshavarzi - has been involved in performing for many years. Some plays
she has performed in include Treasure Island, The Bethlehem Chronicles, David and
Goliath, Mary and Joseph and Arsenic and Old Lace. Some other activities Karly enjoys
are drama, dancing, volleyball, fastball, swimming, soccer and track and field. She is
currently working towards becoming a Junior Lifeguard. Karly has won many medals in
Speech, Poetry Recitals and Character Recitations. She has also won track medals at the Harry Jerome and Knights of Columbus events in addition to her fastball and volleyball medals Karly joined Down By The Docks in December of 2002 and has been enjoying her role. What makes her day is seeing the kids all having fun with Down By The Docks. Karly is 13 years old and an excellent Junior High student.

Leroy The Lobster - Leroy The Lobster hails from the Deep Blue Sea where
talking lobsters are common. He is 3 and a half in lobster years but we've yet to decipher
what that is in human years. Leroy has been a performer back home but this is first show
in our world. His Father is the King in the area where he is from. Leroy became part of the
show after meeting another Docks friend, Wiggle Fish, a while ago. One of the best parts
of the show for Leroy is meeting the kids because they teach him about our world and he
teaches them about the water world. Leroy does admit though he has a strong allergy to
butter but milk is good for everyone. Leroy invites everyone to come and visit Down By The Docks whether it's a live show or on TV or Internet because he says it's SO much fun!

Shantelle Robb - joined Down By The Docks in April of 2002. She already has
been performing for many years as a dancer, singer, acting in various recitals and school
plays. Shantelle has also done some modelling for local fashion shows.
Shantelle has been an avid participant with Down By The Docks over the past three years.

Being Daryl's daughter she has been travelling with the group and joining rehearsals. She lists Leroy as one of her favourite friends and looks forward to performing with him.
Shantelle enjoys performing with Down By The Docks as she loves to see the kids smiling and having fun. Shantelle is 11 years old and a French Immersion student.

Emily MacDonald - has been performing most of her young life. Currently she has been winning many medals in Highland Dance in British Columbia and Alberta. She plans to compete in Highland Dance in Scotland in the year 2003. Emily has performed ballet and tap in productions as well. She also plays piano and guitar in addition to singing. Emily has appeared in many school plays receiving excellent reviews. Emily joined Down By The Docks in June of 2001 and looks forward to her role. She enjoys performing especially for kids because of the interaction. Down By The Docks is her first performing group but she has shown tremendous enthusiasm that has spilled over to the others. Emily is 13 years old and a French Immersion student.
