TEAM PLAYERS is a collective of composers and improvisers with complimentary styles and influences, brought together for a one-off gig in Washington DC in April 2014. The initial sonic chemistry and close friendships sparked the scheduling of additional engagements that became a 3 week tour including more than 20 performances in more than 15 cities in over 10 states.

This album was recorded in New York City after our second performance, as a prelude to our cross-country adventure. It features original compositions, free group improvisations, and one standard associated with Thelonious Monk. No overdubs, splices, punches or any editing was done - the music is organic and raw. And in Monk-fashion, no more than 2 takes were made, and in some cases, only one. This is music made in the moment, created by careful listeners, imaginative improvisers, skilled craftsmen, self-less individuals... team players.

- Brad Linde, July 2014

TEAM PLAYERS is very grateful for the talents, support and generosity of Jimmy Katz, Steve Maxwell's Vintage and Custom Drums, Pete Karam, and Michael Kanan and Stephanie Greig at The Drawing Room.
