ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
A South African - born and bred. He has been living in the States since 1987.

A huge fan of live music, Drew sites James Brown, Phish, Van Morrison, Karl Denson, Medeski Martin and Wood, Hal Maynard, and most recently Martin Sexton as being moving and motivational experiences.

Local to Orange County, San Diego, LA, Santa Barbara venues.

He has had the privilege of working with gifted people over the past few years. In former projects, he was joined by Karl Denson (Tiny Universe & Lenny Kravitz), Cochemea Gastelum (Robert Walter's 20th Congress), Aaron Redfield (Dance Floor Prophets) and others. This latest self produced record (that was tracked in his walk-in closet) features local L.A. drummer, Scott Boureston, along with Nic Rodriguez, and A.J. deGrasse.

Drew empties himself into his lyrics, which range in mood from existential and philosophical to autobiographical and emotional. Stylistically, Drew melds his influences of soul, jazz, folk, and blues to make a menu sure to satisfy all.

Rolling Stone Magazine has yet to review this independent release. However, his mother has endorsed it as being some of the finest music she has ever heard.

Excellent surprise!
I bought the cd w/o hearing a song, but knew that some samples of Drew's music had been played on the PBS show, "Roadtrip Nation". I have enjoyed the music on the show and saw his name in the credits so I gave it a shot.
It's a fantastic cd and Drew is an amazing talent. My 2 week old son, Tyler also approves as I have used the cd several times to help stop his crying in the middle of the night!! Look forward to more music from Drew!

Refreshing music that inspires me to live better.
I am so glad that this long awaited album is finally here! I am quite fond of the passionate lyrics and soulful melodies. Drew Bray's vocals are untouchable and honestly take me to another time and era. It is so great to have some real, non-sythetic and non-synthesized music available these days that is quality! I can't wait to take in a live show.

keeps me in check thughtful and fun
This dude has a great balance of serious thoughts and fun. The riffs are cool the feel is unique, it is both comfortable and fresh. It keeps me in check and reminds me to look at my self but not take things too serious. It has'nt left my cd player since i bought it. It is as much a tool as a cd. Thanks God

Reomednav

Reomednav loves Drew Bray!
I bought this CD on blind faith; a guy I know whose taste in music is sort of hit-or-miss said to me "Hey, this guy is great. Trust me, you'll like him, even if just a little." Well, since it arrived the CD has not left my car stereo (and, with 2 hours of drive time a day, that's a lot of listening). This CD is a truly amazing must-buy.
