Album Notes
Drew Schofield's new album Away We Go is a purposeful mix of upbeat acoustic rock tunes such as "Something New" and "When It's Over" alongside more reflective folky cadences such as "Home" and "Easy." Recorded in a unique space converted from a pipe organ chapel, the album conveys a sense of space and breadth. The album flows smoothly along themes of love, heartache, and existential angst. Schofield's music is influenced by singer/songwriter greats such as Dave Matthews, Jack Johnson, John Mayer, Shane Bernard, John Ondrasik (Five for Fighting), and many others.

If you like Drew's voice - his vocal range, inflections, gymnastics, touch and feeling, then BUY THIS DISK. I've known Drew for several years, and I have NEVER heard Drew's voice sound this good, even in person. This recording captures the essence of Drew as a singer. Also, this disk has a couple of tracks I hadn't heard, confirming what I already knew: that Drew is a top tunesmith. Drew never ceases to amaze me with the quality of tunes/hooks/choruses/etc he can turn out. Although Drew hasn't been gigging much lately, this disk proves that singer/songwriter extraordinaire Drew Schofield is alive and well. Spare some cutter for this one my friends, and you won't be disappointed!
