ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
DRUMHAND's music is not born out of any particular tradition but has been informed by the many that have been willing to share.  After several years of traveling, waiting, listening and creating Toronto’s percussion-dance-jazz orchestra is now very pleased to be able to share it's music with others through the group's début release: Moving Still.

Founded in 2008 by Toronto percussionists David Chan and Larry Graves (Mr. Something Something); DRUMHAND performs original rhythm-based music in schools, at festivals and concert events.  Propelled a steamroller of percussion and energized by jazz horns (led by Marcus Ali of Cruzao/Ali Bros), the group draws on the percussion-driven traditions of warmer climates to inspire a unique blend of sound and texture.
