Album Notes
The coastline of America's West Coast shines with many sea birds chirping about enjoying the isolated and completely encompassing beauty of the Big Sur beaches of California's Central Coast. These tracks feature many dynamically different ocean environments with some being recorded close to the waves, and others near tidepools and cliffs. The power of the ocean roars through as close-up splashes mix with distant thundering rumbles of the deep blue sea.
This was recorded by Dr. White with his trusty TASCAM DR-05 and a windscreen, sometimes placing the recorder in precarious locations on rocks and jetties. After echo-locating the perfect spot for a binaural stereo capture of the environment as though you were there in the spot of the recorder, the doc takes a walk away to enjoy being in the environment himself, as it truly is a blessed job to be able to record beach sounds - and the doc is human too, so this is finding one's own medicine and taking it too.
This specific audio device captures a wide stereo field as though it were acting like a human head with the microphone 'ears' positioned for perfect binaural recording - a human analogue. The mist, the seaspray, the birds, the roar - all shine through in these single-location recordings, presented to you as an ocean escape mechanism, without having anything sound fake or composited, because it just isn't. Simple EQ, minor pop editing and final mastering were the only techniques used to bring these recordings to final form for you on the distribution side of accepting pure natural environments for real-time sound consumption. It is what you expect, and therefore it is what our product is expected of, and so our dedication is this trust in the Doctor/Patient relationship of expectation and guarantee.
You many not be physically sick, but your mind can always use some endorphin, adrenaline and serotonin triggers for the benefit of yourself and the rest of the world's general energy spectrum.
Be nice people!
The point of Dr. White's Noise Field Recordings are to envelop humans (and animals too!) into the environments you need to access from the natural world - but lets actually not fully limit it to natural as we do have an hour-long field recording of freeway traffic available for people accustomed to that environment in need of a soundbed of smooth humming road noise. We are on the scientific hunt for the best locations to bring you hour-long environmental immersion tracks.
The next point being, we at the Dreamline Institute of Crypticon Records are using science to present your mind with the audio therapy it needs. Think about people in hospitals or even prisons without access to actual freedom, where virtual escapism to the beach is now only a few clicks away from streaming or owning - just a shut-eyes time away from a full audio world - faraway.
Sound Therapy is a real thing and will be proven more in the future. We hope to add to the scientific data of such science, and welcome offering you, the human, many more fine audio environments to escape virtually into.
