Album Notes
November 2003

Diane Scanlon's long awaited second CD will be available on line at Amazon.com and CD Baby in January 2004. During the years following the release of her critically acclaimed disc, Devotion, she has had many artists covering her trademark songs. Hers is a catalog which moves through many different genres. "I Know You By Heart" and "Time is a Healer" on Eva Cassidy's Platinum CD Songbird, are beloved by many of Cassidy's fans. "Who's Gonna Carry You" was the single on Tramaine Hawkin's CD Higher Ground, a Grammy nominated record in the contemporary Gospel category. In the pop realm, Arista chose "I'll Be Here" as the hit single for the debut release by the band Tuesday. And her Grammy Award-winning music, composed for Penguin Audio Books, is known for running the gamut from mystery to mysticism.

Known for her emotive, blues-based playing and soulful lyrics, she is a musician's musician. The poetic, urgent quality of her lyrics fuse with her powerful voice to unfailingly captivate the first-time audience. The honesty of those lyrics and the unassailable quality of her melodies, are the threads that have attracted listeners from Nashville to London.

"With her self-produced disc Diane Scanlon stakes her claim as a singer and writer on the scene to watch."

New York Newsday
"A spectacular talent... Her singing, guitar and lyrics all bite down hard..."

Bill Straw of Blix Street Records:
"Diane Scanlon's "I Know You By Heart" played a tremendous part in the success of Eva Cassidy's #1 record Songbird."

tough and soulful. Dipped in the East village
A clean recording. It's all the smokey aura of her voice that pushes these songs along.
