Album Notes
Doug Thomson has been playing the Mountain Dulcimer for twenty eight years. Doug has taught dulcimer for the City of Claremont and the Folk Music Center. Doug is the inventor of the banjo-dulcimer called the Banjo-Mer which he has been building for over twenty years. The Banjo-Mer is played coast to coast and even in Canada and Israel. It has opened up a new sound and fun-playing for all to enjoy!
The CD "The Many Sounds of The Banjo-Mer" is showcased
by the performances of: David Schnaufer, Tull Glazener with Guy George, Connie Allen with Bill Dempsey, Heidi Cerrigione and all the Doofus Band and Doug Thomson. The CD has had wonderful reviews in Dulcimer Players News and The Banjo Newsletter. Siskiyou Bluegrass Music Productions featured the CD as their CD of the month for February 2005 on their website!
The variety of songs and playing styles on this CD should please most music lovers!

Old Time Echoes
The mountains would ring with the sounds of this instrument. What a great compilation of songs to test the dexterity of the performer and transfix the listener. These tunes will take the listner back to Scottish roots and pioneer spirit, and then have fun with some more contemporary offerings. Thompson's instrument has a great old time sound, and the echoes may encourage the listner to pick up the instrument and start playing himself. I know I did. Thanks!
